Film 4 – ManvsMachine

From what I read on It’s Nice That – these are the new Film 4 idents created by ManvsMachine (this link has loads more words and design) and 4Creative. Also check out their (MvsM) Vimeo channel.

“ManvsMachine set out to create a film channel rather than a tv channel, covering all on-air aspects of the brand from idents to OSP and beyond. A custom motion technique, a contemporary take on a classic film strip / projector effect, was developed to span graphic and live-action elements to give the package a visual signature beyond the logo.”

Looks like a dream project – so much reference and source material to play with – seen together on the following shorts, it looks a really strong creative execution – can’t wait to see it live.

Sagmeister x Walsh – Adobe

Only hearing about these clips without seeing them I thought this was going to be a (ever so slightly) self-indulgent project by Sagmeister and Walsh…how wrong…just absolutely fantastic…

In short and without fully getting the whole brief – just a very creative way to explore a logo, (and what can be possible creatively within certain parameters) in this case Adobe. Seen via a number of sources…

Overall I would have scored this 3-2 to Walsh…

London Design Festival 2013 – Pentagram

Design is Everywhere was the theme for the LDF this year. Now all packed up for another year – the ident from Pentagram (Dominic Lippa) again is striking and bold. It is nice to see a campaign idea worked across the various applications in a thoughtful way.

Starbucks

Although not a huge fan of the ‘Starbucks experience’ – I do quite like the look of their working environment… Dieline interviews the major players: – Jennifer Quotson, Director of Visual Presentation; Jeffrey Fields, Vice president of Global Creative; and Jean-Marie Shields, Director of Brand Strategy and Expression. Nice to see all work is produced by their in-house studio…
