pia jane bijkerk – blog

Fantastic blog of Pia Jane Bijkerk – if you want to see lovely work and photographs. In Pia’s own words she is “an internationally acclaimed stylist, photographer and author specializing in interiors, still life & food. She continues to use her home as her workshop and her travels as inspiration and delights in stepping off the beaten path to discover the unexpected for her clients and readers…and divides her time working and living between Sydney, Parisand a houseboat in Amsterdam.”

To give a flavour of her and her work I have selected at random a post that looks great of window displays + installations that  she worked on. Windows featured are: Better Read Than Dead + Newspaper Taxi (in Brisbane, I think), Shearers (in Leichhardt). (Have taken all the work pics out of context, which I hate to do…but if you want to read more check out the link here).

Like the pics of the work as much as the work itself…Words and images from Pia’s site.

Betty & June – Ryan Feerer

Seen via Graphic Exchange – then checked out Ryan Feerer’s site. Really nice stuff, all the way from Abilene, Texas.
Love the work, but also the quality of the photography of the work – the fact that they are great shots and also the graininess of them.
Words and pics from here.

“…branding and packaging for my (Feerer’s) friend’s boutique here in Abilene, Texas. All of the bags, tags, and business cards were hand stamped. Its quite a bit of work but feels more personable this way. Also, its more cost effective in the long run. Its pretty hip for Abilene… which is a wonderful thing!”

This Crooked Way by The International Office

New Zealand’s moody, antipodean atmosphere evoked by clothing through monochromatic colour palettes and textural layering captured through beautiful photography from Meighan and David. Photography: Meighan Ellis & David James. Typefaces: Franklin Gothic, Brunel. Stock: 150gsm Photo-grade.

Seen via 1983
Designed by The International Office – not 100% sure of where they are based but I think this work looks awesome. Words + pics from The International Office.

Jenny Kallman

An interesting place to work in – staged but not posed.

“Jenny Källman works in the field between documentary and staged photography. The arbitrary quality to photography is being put aside and instead a drama in time and room unfolds. The drama often takes place between young people, who appear in the images, as they experience a first, under-the-skin contact with the brutal plays for power that shape the roles of adult reality.”

Found via It’s Nice That‘s twitter feed.
Words from her press release – check out her site here.

Minimiam

Originally seen via Yay! Everyday – a site which I love – image + words from here.

“The husband and wife food photographers, who work under the name Minimiam (meaning MINI YUM), spend their days transforming everyday foods into whimsical, storied landscapes.”
