SIT

Really tasty work, stuff you would actually want to own.

“Artist SIT has been part of the Amsterdam creative scene for many years. Doing action painting, graphic design, advertising and more until he got fed up. He went back to square one to find his true essence. Back to head and handcraft.”

Merry Chraftmas – Thelma + Louise

After the super success of their first Crafternoon the other month Thelma + Louise are putting on another Christmas – y afternoon. Essentially grown adults: cutting, sticking, making, sewing, buttons,  fabric, ribbons, string, paper etc…etc.. Fingers crossed I can make it…anyhow check the link and book yourself a spot!

As well as your DIY craft kit there will be lots extra of crafty supplies to play with and extra kits to buy if one just isn’t enough! We’re also going to have a stall selling our wares, which will make perfect Christmas presents, even if we do say so ourselves…and unlimited tea, cake and mince pies.”

Paperlux, Novum 11/11

Paperlux: Novum 11/11. Know very little about it other than the what is on the credits. All I know is that I want to get my hands on a copy…but it looks like it is only sold in Germany…hmmm….

Anyhow saw this via Graphic Exchange, just mindblowing skills in design, repro and commitment to a great product. The film of ‘the making of’ is lovely and upbeat. Enjoy.

3 tracks from the Da Bank show this week

Favourite tracks from Rob Da Bank’s show this week that are worth a mention…

Golden Fable – very excited about. They did 3 tracks live at Maida Vale for Mr Da Bank, Always Golden, Be Alive and The Chill Pt.2. Although I preferred the 2 others more, this is still ace and is their latest single. Hail from North Wales + you can download for free from their website or buy a limited edition copy (only 200 made).

Jonny Kearney & Lucy Farrell — Stand Up Show from their album Kite. Check it out on iTunes.

Hackman – You Deliver out on Ramp Recordings

Crystal Fighters – Champion Sound (Mustang mix)

In two minds which I prefer, this mix or the original version, this is much ‘cooler’ but the other one is so upbeat… anyhow heard this around for a bit, definitely played by Rob Da Bank though – favourite radio dj out there at the moment. Crystal Fighters on iTunes.

Check the original below…video shared from Crystal Fighters

Debbie Smyth

Debbie Smyth is textile artist most identifiable by her statement thread drawings; these playful yet sophisticated contemporary artworks  are created by stretching a network of threads between accurately plotted pins. Her work beautifully blurs the boundaries between fine art drawings and textile art, flat and 3D work, illustration and embroidery, literally lifting the drawn line off the page in a series of “pin and thread” drawings.

Project featured is Fly Away Home: 8 metres wide by 3.5 metres high

Created for Stroud International Textile Festival and installed as part of the exhibition, “WordPlay” at the Museum in the Park, Stroud. Artists showcased tease the written word into tactile images, interpreting their observations with stitch and mark, challenging the viewer to seek fresh ways to see their world.”
