#Nicer Tuesdays – It’s Nice That

#Nicer Tuesdays curated, organised by It’s Nice That is something that is worth a look. Run on the last Tuesday of every month… Really ‘nice’ touch that they share the presentations online via youtube and their own website. Absolute shed loads of films to look through – fantastic speakers and great inspiration resource. Film below of Karl Toomey discussing humour and his creation of Gary Goals – a lovely idea and wonderfully realised.

No doubt seen via @itsnicethat.

The School of Life

The School of Life – first up I absolutely love the look of their website. Really simple and calm but lovingly put together.

Essentially (in their words) a ‘cultural enterprise offering good ideas for everyday life’ which they do via talks, products, classes, books etc..etc.. More to follow when I have really had time to look through in more depth.

I mean who wouldn’t want a pencil sets with the words Bricolage or Anagnorisis? Pretentious, moi?!

(thanks to Roisin for the find)

Designer Breakfasts

Designer Breakfasts is the hub for people who own or work in a creative business. Our events offer a chance to get out of the studio and hear from, meet and share ideas and experiences with your peers and competitors. I guess a London version of SwissMiss’ Creative Mornings – either way a great line up and a great idea.

In their words ‘Established in 2005 by designers Amanda Tatham and Mike Abrahams, who then worked in collaboration with Pippa Crawford of The Ministry of Love until 2011, Designer Breakfasts runs events exploring the themes of entrepreneurship; new business models such as co-ownership and co-creation; selling creative thinking rather than simply outputs; and taking designers’ vision to SMEs’

Previous talks and sessions are on their website.

Next talk 16th July @ the Design Museum featuring Danny Millar (founder of Little White Lies / The Church of London) and James Hilton (AKQA).
